Death be not Proud

Fri Nov 13, 2009, 7:06 PM

It seems as though premature death waits for us around every corner in every disease and malady that festers within our humanity...

I'm still in shock over the things that happened in the last four weeks, namely my Aunt's death on the day of my dad's birthday, as well as that of Jasmine You- a member of the Versailles Quartet. I still can't quite believe it, and yet I worry for my cousins who are still much younger than I and how they will cope with their mother's death. As for Versailles, I really hope they don't disband. A lot of the music groups that I've liked have the tendency soon after I started liking them. Any way, I guess the only way to deal with sudden death is to keep moving on remembering that life is short and living life to the best that we can do.

School's finally over, but things haven't settled down in by a long shot! I've still got tons of paperwork and housing issues to work out. Not to mention I'm hungry for Dim Sum.

Any way, this is the second shameless advertising for :iconlaziraven:'s twin brother= :iconlaziraven21: who finally made a devart account! Again he's only 16, but he's able to come up with creative and awesome concepts like this one: [link]
I wish I had that much creativity and eye for details. Sometimes when I look a piece of paper or blank canvas I pretty much blank out.
Anyhow, please check out his gallery and support him ^_^!

Meanwhile, I'm thinking of doing a collab with the twins for a Kiriban when my page views hit 1700. (7 is an important number for me. Again, thank you to all my loyal watchers ^_^!

So far this week has been insane, but I've been trying to get back online here, especially with my portfolios. It's also taken a toll on my body so much that my allergies are reacting again. So any way, here's a short break from my hiautus with stuff I didn't get to put in last quarter.

This totally made my day: [link]

The article's so true; sometimes I've wondered how I've been on devart for 3 years and still only managed to rack up 1605 page views. Not to be conceited or anything, but it amazes me how low quality art receives a lot of attention, and my art is definitely better than stick figures (well, with the exception of DOM on Megatokyo.com). And after I ready Kyrashangea's article I finally understand why. networking + massive favouriting= thousands of page views. I don't network so much because of time given to school and other hobbies; I take writing and fashion just as seriously as my art submissions here, and I wish to maintain the integrity of my favourites. Meaning unless something seriously haunts or inspires me, I'm not favouriting it just because it's "pretty." It has to be "AMAZING" in my mind for me to favourite things.

Any way, that's my page views rant! I'm thankful for all my loyal watchers that have stuck with me over the years ^_^!

I'm putting myself under strict Hiatus for the next three months, starting tomorrow. There's too much at stake for me right now at grad school that I can't afford to keep up here this quarter, or at wallflower. But I'm hoping my helping moderators will help with the club for the next three months. Thanks girls! In the meantime it's no art, J-dramas, anime, or weekends for the next nine weeks (sounds like tortuous hell).

Au Revoir,
~Meg
